Atlanta newcomer Justin Upton, Jason Heyward and Dan Uggla homered in the eighth inning, and Juan Francisco hit a pair of solo shots earlier in the game to help the Braves win their 10th straight with a 6-3 victory over the Royals on Tuesday night.  Heyward’s second homer, Upton’s eighth and Uggla’s third were all solo shots off reliever Kelvin Herrera (1-1), who gave up three hits, four runs and one walk in two-thirds of an inning. Atlanta’s 10-game winning streak is its longest since 15 straight from April 15-May 2, 2000.

Chris Getz homered in the top of the third to tie the game at 1-1 and the Royals took a 2-1 lead in the fourth when Salvador Perez reached on a Francisco throwing error, and later scored on Jeff Francoeur’s RBI single. Alex Gordon singled home a run in the ninth for the Royals, who have lost three out of four.

Jeremy Guthrie got a no-decision after tossing seven innings, allowing just those two homers and striking out six. This was just the Royals second loss in Guthrie’s last 14 starts dating back to last season.
