Royals add to spring win total

Salvador Perez had two hits, including a three-run homer, and Alex Gordon added a solo shot as the Kansas City Royals took a 8-3 decision over the Cincinnati Reds in spring training play.

Paulo Orlando and Lorenzo Cain each had two hits and drove in one run for the Royals, who saw starter Ervin Santana give up two runs on seven hits and strike out three batters over four innings.

Kansas City finished with 16 hits.

Bryson Smith had a pinch-hit solo homer and Joey Votto added an RBI double for the Reds. Starting pitcher Mat Latos drove in one run, but gave up five runs on nine hits over three innings while striking out five in defeat.
