The Lincoln University Blue Tigers, entering their third year of MIAA Conference play, will face Grambling State at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 4:30. Grambling State is a member of the SWAC and is one of the country’s best known historically black colleges. The Blue Tigers are coached by former Missouri Tiger and NFL star Mike Jones, who is entering his third season as the head of the Lincoln football program.
The Blue Tigers were previously a member of the MIAA from 1970-1989 before Lincoln ended its football program. Lincoln brought back football at the start of the 2000 season, competing in the Central States Football League before spending the next six seasons as an independent. The Blue Tigers then became a member of the Great Lakes Football Conference from 2007-2009 before spending the 2010 campaign as an independent.
