A Howard County hunter who thought he shot a coyote last October actually shot something else. The conservation department says DNA tests show it was a gray wolf. Gray wolves have not lived in Missouri in any great numbers for more than a century. But the department says a few wander in from Wisconsin, Michigan, or Minnesota, and that’s what this one probably did.
