Pinkel happy with effort during first spring practice (AUDIO)

March 13, 2013 By Bill Pollock

The Missouri Tigers kicked off the first of 15 spring practices, holding Tuesday’s 2.5 hour workout inside because of the chilly weather. Due to NCAA rules, the players are not allowed to participate in full contact drills until the third practice, so Tuesday was a helmets only practice with some individual and 7-on-7 drills.

Running back Henry Josey, coming off double knee surgery is third on the depth chart behind junior Marcus Murphy and sophomore Russel Hansbrough. Pinkel says Josey has been cleared for full contact.

Offensive line which took such a big hit last year is coming back and Pinkel is hopeful that three key lineman could get 10-full pad practices in this spring.

Spring camp continues Thursday with practice number two that afternoon.
