Matt Brown was fired today as the head basketball coach at UMKC. Brown went 64-122 in six seasons, including this season’s 8-24 record that ended with a Summit League Tournament quarterfinal loss to North Dakota State. Brown was hired as the program’s eighth head coach in 2007 after working as an assistant at West Virginia and Florida. Brown’s best year was 2010-11, when the Kangaroos finished 16-14. It was UMKC’s only winning season in Brown’s tenure.
