Adam Wainwright, in his first start of the spring, breezed through his first two innings and pitched into the third to get more work in. Wainwright threw 27 of his 48 pitches for strikes. He allowed four hits and struck out three in the Cardinals 10-2 win over the Astros.
The Cardinals batted around in the bottom of the third. After a leadoff double by Kolten Wong, Matt Holliday launched a homer to left. Allen Craig followed with a homer to nearly the same spot. Pete Kozma homered as well.
Craig, Holliday, Kozma, Shane Robinson and David Freese each drove in two runs for St. Louis.
