Missouri Tiger Zaviar Gooden was the star of the linebacker 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis on Monday. Gooden finished with the fastest time of 4.47 for the group. Gooden is already expected to be a second or third round pick and most scouts said he would be good for special teams early in his career. Perhaps Gooden’s stock is on the rise?

A disappointing run by Manti Te’o. He was clocked at a 4.82. Perhaps Alabama backs running circles around him in the BCS title game was the truth and not the exception. I love NFL.com’s assessment/comparison of Te’o to the Chiefs number first round pick from last year.

“To put Te’o’s run in perspective, recall that 346-pound Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Dontari Poe nearly equaled that time at 4.87 last year. Checking in smaller than expected at 241 pounds, Te’o needed to crack 4.75 to erase doubts about his athleticism and ability to play all three downs.”
