The Missouri Senate says a new Mississippi River bridge at St. Louis should be named for the Greatest Cardinals player of them all–and the road across that bridge should be named for a great Cardinals fan.

The bill passed by the Senate names the bridge for Stan Musial.  The highway the bridge would carry is to be named for Park Hills carpenter Andy Gammon, who was killed a year ago when he fell into the river while working on the bridge. A close friend of Gammon’s testified when the bill was before a Senate committee that Gammon had been a fervent fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
