A proposal in the Senate would raise Missouri’s fines for seat belt violations.
The legislation, sponsored by by St. Louis Sen. Joe Keaveny has been killed in committee during the past three legislative sessions. Keaveny’s bill would increase the fine from $10 $50.
Lobbyists for police, insurance, doctors’ and trucking groups testified in favor of the bill.
