Mules hitting the baseball well in season opening tournament in Houston

February 4, 2013 By Bill Pollock

The fourth-ranked Central Missouri Mules put the leadoff runner on in seven of eight innings and pounded out 16 hits en route to a 10-4 win over Arkansas Tech on Sunday afternoon at the Astros in Action D-II Invitational at Minute Maid Park. The Mules improve to 2-1 on the season and will wrap up the tournament Monday against Arkansas-Monticello at 1 p.m.

On Saturday night the Mules woke up offensively in their second game with an 8-1 win over Abilene Christian on Saturday night. The Mules pounded out 12 hits in the game and took advantage of three Wildcat errors to record their first win of the season and even their early season record at 1-1.

The Mules opened with a 4-1 loss to West Texas A & M, when Central Missouri was held to two hits. Their lone run came on a leadoff homer by Kyle Greishaber in the sixth inning.
