MO National Guard calls Gov.’s Prayer Breakfast ‘a great tradition’ (AUDIO)

January 10, 2013 By Missourinet Contributor

The Governor’s Prayer Breakfast this morning continued with its traditional prayer opening the breakfast, followed by a statement made by Governor Nixon and key note speaker David Steward, who is the chairman and founder of World Wide Technology.

Major General Stephen Danner with the Missouri National Guard who also attended the breakfast says the breakfast is a great Missouri tradition and it’s important for people to recognize that there’s a power greater than any of us. “I think it’s important, especially in this day-in-age that we recognize that there’s a power greater than any of us individually,” he says.

“And that if we look to work together no matter the race, religion, or creed that generally things turn out to work better.” Danner says it’s important for representatives and senators all over the state to do the people’s business at the capitol, and important for them all to come together for that common goal.

The breakfast is the traditional beginning of the legislative session.
