ESPN is citing sources that a deal to make Andy Reid the new coach of the Chiefs is just about done.  This comes after Chairman Clark Hunt and other team officials met with Reid for nine hours at an airport in Philadelphia.  He was scheduled to fly to Arizona next for an interview with the Cardinals.

One source says all of the major issues have been worked and that the finalization of the deal could happen quickly.  NFL.com is reporting that Reid will still travel to Arizona, plus he will also meet with San Diego who fired Norv Turner.

Hunt, general manager Scott Pioli and president Mark Donovan were reported to be among the Chiefs’ officials who sat in on the interview with Reid. Hunt said that the new head coach would direct reportly to him, which raised eyebrows as to the future of Pioli.

The 55 year old Reid coached in Philly for 14 seasons, winning 130 games and led the Eagles to six division championships and five NFC title games. They reached the Super Bowl only once, losing 24-21 to New England after the 2004 season.

Reid was once the offensive line coach at Missouri from 1989-91.
