The National Weather Service in St. Louis says the snow is expected to continue throughout today and into tonight, leaving anywhere from 2- to 4 inches of accumulation.

WEATHERSenior forecaster Scott Truett tells Missourinet that as temperatures drop tonight and into the morning, significant icing could occur. He says those traveling in the morning will want to watch road conditions closely and give road crews a chance to get them cleared.

Truett says snow pockets have covered much of the state  and “it looks like another round of heavier snow is expected to re-devleop over the area later tonight.”

“We’re not sure this snow will be totally over tomorrow morning, but if it is still here it should be down to just flurries,” Truett says.

And he warns that a snow and sleet mix in southern Missouri might mean not as much accumulation, but will still prove to be hazardous.
