The Jacksonville Jaguars activated rookie wide receiver and former Missouri Tiger, Jerrell Jackson to their 53-man roster from the practice squad after wide receiver Cecil Shorts (head), was placed on injured reserve.

Jackson, 6-0, 192, spent the preseason with Houston before he was waived on final cuts. He was signed to the Jaguars’ practice squad on Dec. 14. He was a two-year starter at Mizzou where he played in 49 games with 24 starts. Jackson finished his college career with 113 receptions for 1,434 yards and six touchdowns. In 2010 he played with Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert and put together a career-high 50 catches for 656 yards.
