Laurence Bowers was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week after averaging 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in Tiger wins over Southern Carolina State and No. 10 Illinois.

Also named the National Player of the Week by ESPN’s Andy Katz, Bowers scored a team-leading 23 points in Missouri’s win over the No. 10 Fighting Illini, while also grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing four assists. It was Missouri’s fourth consecutive victory in the Bud Light Braggin’ Rights Game and marked Bowers’ fourth double-double of the season.

A strong candidate for All-America honors, Bowers leads Missouri (10-1) in scoring (16.9) and is second in rebounding (6.7). He is also shooting a team-best 57.4 percent from the floor and 56.5 percent from three-point range.

Mizzou returns to action on Friday at UCLA. The game is scheduled to tip at 9 p.m.
