Third Missouri bank failure of 2012 (AUDIO)

December 14, 2012 By [email protected]

A bank at the Lake of the Ozarks has become the third Missouri bank to fail this year, the 51st in the nation. The state Department of Finance has taken over the Community Bank of the Ozarks in Sunrise Beach and its branch at Pleasant Hope.

The department says the Bank of Sullivan has taken over operations of both facilities. They’ll be open for business as usual this (Saturday) morning. Department spokesman Travis Ford says customers should notice no difference in services.

The department says the bank failed because of bad loans.
