Dearborn family to use Powerball winnings for vacation and college, also will give to charity

November 30, 2012 By Jessica Machetta

Cindy and Mark Hill, and theirĀ four children, were greeted by the national news media in the gymnasium at North Platte High School in Dearborn, Mo. The Hills won the Powerball Jackpot, and have collected their $293.7 million.
They plan to spend the money on college for the family, a horse for their daughter, a trip to the beach, and a red Camaro for Mark.
They also plan to contribute to a couple of charities, including one that led to the adoption of their youngest child from China.
Cindy has been unemployed since June, 2010, when her company lost a grant. Mark was also unemployed until about a year ago, when he took a job as a maintenance mechanic in St Joseph. They will stay in Dearborn.
