Fulton School District employee fired, called police on student suspected to have a gun

November 21, 2012 By Missourinet Contributor

A woman who says she was fired from the Fulton School Distirct because she called police to report that a student might have a gun is suing the distirct.

The lawsuit filed by Ruth Burt says she worked in the schoolkl nurses office for more than 20 years.

The suit says she acted on a report that a boy had been seen with a gun near the school a day before she went to school authoritie to report her concerns. She says she went to police afer school administrators did nothing. The suit indicates the boy was not carrying the gun the day Burt reported the incident.
