Daughter in charge of handling deceased father’s will is charged with murdering him

November 16, 2012 By Missourinet Contributor

A Clay County judge says the daughter of a murdered Liberty businessman cannot be the person in charge of handling her father’s will. That’s because Lee’s Summit lawyer Liz Van Note is charged with murdering her father at his Lake of the Ozarks home. He died several days after he was shot in the head. He was removed from life support after hospital officials got a document giving his daughter power of attorney to make medical decisions. The document turned out to be forged.

Her father’s will had specified his girlfriend would handle his estate if she survived him, but she was murdered at the same time he was.
