Missouri Western’s Travis Partridge, Missouri Southern’s Brandon Williams and Lindenwood’s James Neal earned MIAA Football Athlete of the Week honors for week 11.

MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week

Travis Partridge, QB, Missouri Western

Patridge led the Griffons to a second half comeback against Northwest Missouri to win their first ever MIAA outright title. He threw for two touchdowns and ran for one with a minute to play to give MWSU the 21-20 victory. Partridge completed 19 of 26 passes for 207 yards which included connecting for seven of eight passes for 104 yards in the fourth quarter. He also rushed the ball 10 times for 25 yards and the game winner. Partridge has thrown for 25 touchdowns this season and rushed for 11 on the year. The 6-4 junior quarterback is a native of St. Joseph, Mo. and competed at Savannah High School.

MIAA Defensive Athlete of the Week

Brandon Williams, DL, Missouri Southern

Williams had nine total stops, three of which came for a loss of 12 yards in Missouri Southern’s match-up with Pittsburg State. He forced a fumble, broke up a pass and had two sacks on the day. He increased his school record sack total to 27 in his career. He finished the season with 8.5 sacks and has three of the top five single season sack marks at Missouri Southern. The 6-3 senior defensive lineman is a native of Kirkwood, Mo. where he competed at Rockwood Summit High School.

MIAA Special Teams Athlete of the Week

James Neal, K, Lindenwood

Neal was perfect kicking on the day for the Lions as he finished with five extra points as Lindenwood defeated Truman and will make the trip to their first bowl as members of the NCAA. He hit a 33-yard field goal in the game to help the team get in position to accept a bid to the Mineral Water Bowl to be played on Dec. 1 in Excelsior Springs, Mo. The 5-7 junior kicker is a native of Mansfield, Texas where he competed at Mansfield High School.
