Quarterback James Franklin was picked off four times, including one in the final moments of the game in the end zone, costing Missouri a chance to upset the 7th ranked Florida Gators, losing 14-7 in Gainesville, FL.
Franklin, who sprained his left knee against Vanderbilt on Oct. 6 and sat most of the last two games, completed 24 of 51 passes for 236 yards. However, he also overthrew receivers on several occasions which stalled or ended drives in turnovers.
The Mizzou defense held Florida to 276 yards of total offense, but gave up two plays totalling 81 of those yards that led to Florida touchdowns.
The Gators took advantage of a short field after Mizzou was forced to punt from their own end zone, with Omarius Hines scoring on a 36-yard jet sweep to tie the game in the third quarter.
Early in the fourth after the Tigers had a 25 yard field goal attempt blocked, Jeff Driskel lofted a pass to Gillislee in the right flat, and with two blockers out front, Gillislee made one cut and went untouched for his eighth score of the season.
With the loss, Mizzou falls to 4-5 overall, 1-5 in the SEC and must win two of their final three games to become bowl eligible.
