The National Weather Service says flight cancellations resulting from Hurricane Sandy should be limited to East Coast airports from Washington D-C northward.
Meteorologist Matt Strahan works with Kansas City International Airport to coordinate flights based on weather patterns. He says Atlanta and Memphis airports should be largely unaffected, but Chicago might get dicey, especially at Midway, because Lake Michigan is going to storm surge into Chicago.
Strahan says 7,700 flights were cancelled today, which could be a non-9/11 record.
