Missouri coach Frank Haith on Friday suspended senior guard Michael Dixon and freshman guard Dominique Bull indefinitely for undisclosed violations of team rules.

Haith made the announcement at an afternoon news conference at Mizzou Arena. He said neither suspension is the result of any criminal activity and also said he hasn’t decided how long the suspensions will last.

“We have high expectations for our players, and particularly our seniors,” Haith told reporters. “The time frame will also depend on the player and their response to adversity.

“I want this to be personal growth time for both these young men. I’ve seen some of that from Mike, who has had some time off to work on some academic stuff. He’s made some strides in that area and I’m really proud of him.”

Missouri plays an exhibition game Monday night against Northwest Missouri State and another exhibition Nov. 4 against Missouri Southern. The Tigers, who are ranked No. 10 in preseason by Sporting News, open the regular season Nov. 10 against Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. Mizzou doesn’t face its first true challenge until meeting Stanford on Nov. 22 at the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.
