Missouri State junior wide receiver Dorian Buford (Florissant, Mo.) has been named as the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced late Sunday (Oct. 21).

In Saturday’s 24-17 road win over No. 11 Illinois State, Buford tallied four receptions for 100 yards, including a pivotal 46-yard reception in the fourth quarter to help pace the MSU come-from-behind victory. The effort was Buford’s third 100-yard receiving game of the year, making him just the 10th MSU pass receiver to secure three or more 100-yard games in a season. He is now just one 100-yard game away from the MSU season record of four.

Buford is the 10th Bear to earn MVFC Offensive Player of the Week honors since 2007 and the first MSU receiver to achieve the distinction since Jermaine Saffold on Oct. 2, 2010.

The Bears, who have won two straight MVFC contests, host Western Illinois Saturday (Oct. 27) at 1 p.m., at Plaster Field for a Homecoming tilt with the Leathernecks.
