If Rams rookie cornerback Janoris Jenkins is unable to go this weekend against the Green Bay Packers, the team’s special teams will take a hit just as the secondary will. Jenkins as well as OT Wayne Hunter were sidelined for Wednesday’s practice with back injuries. Jenkins, a second-round draft pick out of North Alabama, took over punt return duties as well as playing cornerback when Danny Amendola suffered a separated shoulder.

Jenkins has one interception this season, coming in week one at Detroit and he also has seven pass deflections with last week at Miami being the only games Jenkins came up empty in that category.  Jenkins has caught the eye of Packers QB Aaron Rodgers.

“Looking at Janoris Jenkins, a young guy who’s obviously playing with a lot of confidence. He’s been able to step in and play at a high level. In this league, you learn if you’ve got guys that can cover, it really makes your pass rush more effective and really allows your defense to do multiple things, which they’re doing on that side of the ball. It’s been keeping them in games and winning their games at home.”
