Republican gubernatorial candidate Dave Spence has filed a defamation lawsuit against Governor Jay Nixon.
The suit says a Nixon campaign ad targeting Spence’s involvement with a bank includes false statements, describing Spence as a banker who used federal bailout money to buy a vacation home.
The suit seeks unspecified monetary damages.
The Nixon campaign calls the lawsuit frivolous, misguided and desperate.
