Man sentenced for St. Louis dog abuse cases

October 4, 2012 By Mike Lear

A man who admitted to torturing, mutilating and killing five dogs in a vacant St. Louis building has been sentenced to four years in prison.

31-year-old Darick Dashon Stallworth was arrested in the spring after authorities were called to the report of one of the dogs dangling from a windowsill of the building.

Stallworth pleaded guilty in August to three felony counts of animal abuse and two misdemeanor counts of neglect.
