Our Tiger, Max Scherzer, now pitching with the Detroit Tigers is dealing with what he’s calling a muscle strain in his throwing shoulder and the right handed starting pitcher will miss his start tomorrow.

“I want to be able to, but at the same time, when you have a recurring injury like this, you can’t get back onto the mound again before you’re 100 percent,” Scherzer said.

If the problem doesn’t clear up, the Tigers will be without one of their top arms as Detroit battled Chicago for the AL Central. The Royals are wrapping up their four games this afternoon in Detroit and finish the season by hosting the Tigers for the final three games of the season.

Scherzer is 16-7 with a 3.82 ERA and 228 strikeouts, good for second in the major leagues in behind teammate Justin Verlander.
