About 150 employees of a Dexter automotive parts plant are losing their jobs.

Faurecia (For-see-uh) says it’s reorganizing some of its production activities. The French company took over the plant in February 20-10 and is the world leader in Emissions Control Technologies.

Some of the 150 employees getting laid off are eligible for early retirement packages, and the company says it plans to bring new work to the area.

Faurecia is the 6th largest international automotive parts manufacturer in the world. It develops and produces entire exhaust systems and employs about 62-thousand people globally.
