Eric Hosmer singled home the winning run on a 0-2 pitch with two outs in the ninth inning as the Royals took two out of three in this final series against the Central Division leaders with a 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox.

The Royals rallied for a 3-0 deficit to win for the 12th time in 18 meetings against the Sox. Defense also keyed the win. Catcher Salvador Perez threw out Alex Rios at the plate and picked off Alexei Ramirez at third base, for this fifth pickoff of the season. That leads all Major League catchers and what’s more impressive about Perez, is that he started the season on June 21 and has appeared in just 66 games.

Johnny Giovatella had an RBI triple in the fifth and Billy Butler doubled in a run in the sixth to close the gap to 3-2.
