Bruce Chen pitched 6.2 innings of shutout ball and outpitched All Star Chris Sale as the Royals beat the Chicago White Sox 3-0.  The Sox put a runner on in each of the first three innings off Bruce Chen, including runners in scoring position in the second and third. Then after the Royals lefty walked the first two batters in the fourth, the Sox loaded the bases with no outs but came away with no runs.

Winners of five in a row, Chicago was unable to take advantage as the Royals got a Billy Butler sac fly RBI, and two run double by Alex Gordon in the seventh to cap their scoring. The win gave the Royals their eighth over the last ten against the Sox.
