Arrest made in case of cats shot with arrows

September 20, 2012 By Mike Lear

A Morgan County resident has been arrested after two cats were found shot with arrows in Versailles.

The person’s name is not being released pending charges, but police say charges of felony animal abuse can carry a jail sentence of up to four years with fines up to $5,000 for each count.

Meanwhile, Patches and Licorice are recovering from their wounds at the Humane Society in St. Louis. They were shot in the neck with the arrows exiting or protruding near the shoulders.
