College of Ozarks challenges federal health care act in court today (AUDIO)

September 17, 2012 By Jessica Machetta

Saying it’s time to protect its religous beliefs, the College of the Ozarks is heading to federal court today.

AUDIO: School president Jerry Davis says the Federal Health Care Act violates the school’s right to teach its beliefs.

Davis says the act violates the schools teachings when it comes to abortion and birth control education. Davis calls the act “government at its worst.”

AUDIO:  Davis says the school has long be recognized as a faith-based institution, and can’t be forced to provide counseling and education about abortion and contraception.

Davis says the school doesn’t want “faceless bureaucrats in Washington telling them how religious we are.”
