On Sunday, Rams offensive lineman Rodger Saffold crumpled to the ground with a neck injury and everyone feared the worst as he was carted off the field. We found out Monday he had a severe neck strain that could keep him out for quite a while. Yet he was out there on Thursday afternoon taking part in one-on-one and full team drills. “He was full participation,” coach Jeff Fisher said after Thursday’s workout.

It was a non-pad workout and Saffold was just testing his neck, but a great sign of things to come. Otherwise the team is fairly healthy. DT Michael Brockers (ankle), DT Matt Conrath (knee), and OG Rokevious Watkins (ankle) did not practice.

Also, backup quarterback Kellen Clemens was re-signed and added to the roster, taking part in Thursday’s practice, and giving the Rams three quarterbacks on the active roster. To make room for Clemens on the 53-man roster, defensive tackle Darell Scott, a fourth-round draft pick by the Rams in 2009 was cut.
