After considering pulling its support … the Missouri Farm Bureau has decided to continue to back Congressman Todd Akin in his bid for U.S. Senate.

At issue were Akin’s comments on “legitimate rape” and a woman’s body “shutting down” to prevent pregnancy during rape.

The Farm Bureau’s political action committees voted by 99 percent to support Akin over Democratic U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill before the comments were made, and has since taken a re-vote. The results were similar to the last vote, but the Farm Bureau won’t disclose the exact percentage of approval this time.
