‘Dutch’ Newman, 92, returns from Charlotte ready to get Obama re-elected (VIDEO)

September 11, 2012 By Jessica Machetta

Hilla “Dutch” Newman of Kansas City has rarely missed a Democratic National Convention since 1968. Her fellow delegates in Charlotte became concerned when she was taken to an area hospital Wednesday, but she soon returned after re-hydrating. Though she watched the final speech of the convention, given by President Obama, from her hotel room, she was not daunted in her motivation to return to Missouri with vigor and enthusiasm to get her ballot ready and start talking to folks about re-electing him.

Is it possible that Missouri could vote blue? Newman says yes, but there’s a lot of work to do to make that happen.
