Mizzou fans may have looked at the Tigers schedule and saw revenge and a new coach at Arizona State as reasons to chalk up this Saturday’s game against the Sun Devils as a victory.  Maybe this isn’t such a sure thing?  Taylor Kelly completed 18 of 24 passes for 249 yards and a touchdown, asArizona State rolled past Illinois 45-14 to improve to 2-0 under new coach Todd Graham.

The Illini were without former Rockhurst, H.S. quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase because of an ankle injury, but the Illini’s biggest problem was on defense, especially against the pass and the Sun Devils, who beat Mizzou last year, 37-30 in OT.  The score could have been much more, but ASU fumbled the ball away twice inside the Illinois 10. The Sun Devils scored touchdowns on four of their six first-half possessions.

With their 63-6 victory over Northern Arizona a week ago, the Sun Devils have outscored their opponents 108-20 in their first two games.
