Branson’s talking dog voted off ‘America’s Got Talent’

August 30, 2012 By Missourinet Contributor

Branson entertainer Todd Oliver has been eliminated from this year’s competition on the popular television show America’s Got Talent.  The ventriloquist and his talking dog Irving made the Top Four on this year’s show, but they were sent home Wednesday night during a live broadcast on NBC.

Oliver is a featured performer at the Americana Theatre on Highway 76.

He was voted off the show earlier this summer, but was brought back last week for a Wild Card Round. He advanced to the semi finals, when Howie Mandel broke a judges tie and voted Oliver off the show.  Howard Stern had said yes, while Sharon Osbourne said no.

Stern said after Tuesday night’s performance that Oliver deserved to go through to the finals. He echoed those thoughts Wednesday night prior to the final decision, saying Oliver was a headline show.

The winner of this year’s competition receives $1 million dollars and a headline show in Las Vegas.

Oliver is scheduled to return to his Branson theatre this weekend.

Monte Schisler, KRZK Branson, contributed this story.
