The Rams have depth at the cornerback position with Cortland Finnegan, Janoris Jenkins, Bradley Fletcher, Trumaine Johnson and Jerome Murphy setting themselves up for the final 53-man roster. The team traded Josh Gordy to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for an undisclosed pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Last season, Gordy stepped in after injuries decimated the secondary, and became a starter, playing in 14 games with nine starts. With the open roster spot, the Rams hope to bolster up the defensive end position by signing former New York Jet Vernon Gholston to a one year deal. Gholston was a former number sixth overall draft pick in 2008, but was considered mostly a bust. Gholston never recorded a sack.

Ironically, the Rams get a player they were eyeing that year in the draft, but the Rams went with Chris Long with the overall number two pick that year.
