Mizzou’s offense struggles in second scrimmage (VIDEO/AUDIO)

August 16, 2012 By Bill Pollock

The offense got off to a slow start in Mizzou’s second major scrimmage this morning at Faurot Field. A fumbled snap and interception by quarterback James Franklin led to early defensive points as they beat the offense 16-4 in modified scoring. Pinkel is ready for Franklin to step up as a leader, saying he see traits from last year that need to be fixed. Word quickly got back to Franklin on the field and he’s aware he’s going to have a talk with Coach Pinkel later today.

AUDIO Report on James Franklin (1:00)

Dorial Green-Beckham from Springfield dropped a wide open pass, then after that made a shoestring catch, a one handed grab and juked some defenders. He finished with six catches for 65 yards, mostly against third string defenders. He led the Tigers in those two categories. Bethany, MO. native Brad Madison had two sacks. New Madrid, MO. native Kony Ealy, two tackles for loss and a pass breakup.
