New Churchill items at Fulton museum

August 11, 2012 By Mike Lear

Visitors to the National Churchill Museum in Fulton can see some new personal items from the historic Prime Minister.

Winston Church was given a humidor on a 1946 visit to Cuba … a trip that included his visit to Fulton where he delivered his “Iron Curtain” speech. Another humidor was given to him by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Both are on display, along with a small, leather bedside clock and a wooden clothing brush saved by the son of a Churchill butler.

Also new to the collection are partially smoked cigars preserved in Lucite and 24 volumes of first edition works by Churchill.
