Claire likes Todd but not as a Senator (AUDIO)

August 8, 2012 By [email protected]

Senator McCaskill is glad she’ll be running against Congressman Todd Akin for her senate sheet in November.  She admits she was worried about the amount of  money John Brunner and Sarah Steelman would bring to the race.

McCaskill says she likes Akin personally and says he’s a good man.   That’s why she hopes her race against doesn’t fall to the levels other campaigns have or to the level the Steelman-Brunner campaign reached.  But she says she and Akin widely differ on the issues and will likely spend campaign time criticizing each other’s records.

McCaskill is finishing her first six-year term in the Senate.  Akin has been a Congressman for 12 years.
