Escapee back in custody after five days

July 28, 2012 By Mike Lear

A southwest Missouri jail escapee is back in custody after the search for him has turned up a meth lab at a Dade County mobile home.

William Smith broke out of the County Jail early Monday morning and was tracked down by the Lockwood police chief and her dog. He had eluded authorities at the mobile home on Wednesday, but his brother and two others are charged with helping him slip away and with running the meth lab.
