July 26, 2012 By Missourinet Contributor

Torii Hunter had four hits, including a solo homer, and drove in three runs Wednesday, sparking the Los Angeles Angels to an 11-6 win over Kansas City.

Hunter’s two-run single in the second inning staked the Angels to a 5-0 lead and his solo blast in the eighth capped the scoring for Los Angeles.

Mike Trout went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and scored three times while Alberto Callaspo added three hits, including a run-scoring double, as Los Angeles banged out 17 hits and took the rubber match of a three-game set.

Jered Weaver (13-1) collected his seventh win in seven starts, holding the Royals to two runs on three hits over five innings. The Angels ace struck out eight and walked a pair.

Luke Hochevar (6-9) was rocked for eight runs (six earned) on nine hits in a three-inning start for the Royals.

Jeff Francoeur belted a three-run homer while Billy Butler added a two-run shot and finished with three RBI.
