Suspended Rams DC Williams vows return to coaching

July 24, 2012 By Bill Pollock

Suspended Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams said he plans to coach again, despite being indefinitely suspended by the NFL for his role in the New Orleans Saints bounty program. Williams talked briefly with reporters and at his Gregg Williams Foundation Tiger Classic golf benefit last Friday.

According to the Kansas City Star, Williams has not spoken to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, and didn’t get into specifics about his suspension, but said he will coach again but wanted to “keep the focus on the kids” and his foundation, while at the golf outing.

His foundation continues to help raise money for his school and community in Excelsior Springs, where he graduated high school from in 1976. Since 2004, his foundation has given $343,001 to schools and $255,021 to community events.
