George Brett, Lou Brock, Bob Gibson, Ozzie Smith, and Bruce Sutter are among the former Royal and Cardinals players who will be in attendance this weekend at the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies in Cooperstown, NY. In addition to Barry Larkin and Ron Santo’s ceremonies, the Hall will also honor three living World Series Champion managers from the St. Louis Cardinals.
Red Schoendienst, Whitey Herzog and Tony La Russa, who have won a combined 35% of all regular season wins in Cardinal history will be honored on Saturday. The hall wanted to recognize two hall of famers and another who will get in on his first year of eligibility.
Former Cardinals catcher and Fox TV announcer Tim McCarver will receive the Ford C. Frick Award for broadcasters.
