Two arrested, one sought in Joplin man’s murder

July 9, 2012 By Mike Lear

Two men have been arrested and a teenage suspect is being sought in the murder of a Joplin man.

19-year-old Johnathan Taylor of Joplin and 20-year-old Cody Stephens of Parsons, Kansas, have been arrested and charged with burglary. Warrants have been issued for 17-year-old Daniel Hartman of Tulsa for first-degree murder, armed criminal action and burglary.

The charges are connected to the death of 23-year-old Jacob Wages of Joplin, who was found dead in his home on Friday. An autopsy has shown the cause of death to be murder, but police aren’t saying how he died.
