St. Louis man takes top press post at Vatican

June 25, 2012 By Jessica Machetta

A St. Louis man has become the Vatican’s senior communications adviser.  The job will have Greg Burke in a position to advise the Pope on improving the image of the Catholic Church.  He tells the St. Louis Post-Dispatch the new job is “challenging,” and “a little scary.”  He says his position is not one of power but it places him at the table with those who do have power in the church.

Burke has been a reporter in Rome for various news organizations for more than 20 years.
