Dexter woman charged with forgery

June 25, 2012 By Jessica Machetta

A Dexter woman charged with forging almost one-half million dollars worth of checks from her employer has pleaded guilty after being hit with 66 felony charges. The prosecutor says Kathy Ellsworth was a bookkeeper who wrote the checks to her husband, then forged his signature on them and put the money in her own account.

Court documents indicate her husband did not know she was doing that.
